The Divinity School's library collection is located within the University Library. Divinity books and periodicals are integrated into the wider university holdings, but the majority of divinity books are found on the second floor of the library in the B classification. Though these resources primarily serve Beeson's students and faculty, we are glad to welcome clergy and other members of the greater Birmingham community to visit the library. Below are some helpful links for library resources.
The Samford University Library Catalog is the doorway to using divinity research materials (especially books) in the University Library. "Keyword" searching is the default setting, but tabs allow users to switch to "author", "title", or "subject" searching. Students & faculty can access their patron record through the catalog also.
Current Students and Faculty
Good theological research involves accessing periodical or journal literature. The ATLA Religion Database is the primary index for thousands of articles, book reviews, and more published every year. Beeson Divinity School provides access to this valuable resource for current students and faculty.
ATLASerials® is a quarterly publication comprised of more than 300,000 full-text articles from more than 175 religion and theology journals covering topics from the Bible, archaeology and antiquities to human culture, society and church history as well as ecumenism, pastoral ministry, world religions, theology, philosophy, and ethics.
To access the ATLA databases, you will need to verify your alumni account and sign in.
